Pierce County is seeking a long-term operator for its two public golf courses and associated facilities. - Government buyer: Pierce County, Parks and Recreation. - Opportunity: Select one qualified golf management organization to operate and improve Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place and Lake Spanaway Golf Course in Spanaway, Washington. - OEMs and named vendors: No OEMs, specific vendors, or required branded products are identified. - Services requested: - Golf operations, staffing, pricing, customer service, tee-time reservations, golf carts, lessons, rentals, tournaments, and events. - Course, grounds, landscaping, building, and equipment maintenance and repair. - Pro-shop retail and merchandise, plus restaurant and other food and beverage operations. - Marketing, revenue growth, financial and operational reporting, budgeting, and capital-improvement planning. - Championship and community golf programming, including an annually updated strategy and measurable goals for local participation and championship readiness. - Proposal expectations: Submit a business plan and financial pro forma, a capital reinvestment and revenue-growth plan with at least one specific improvement, a proposed management fee and bonus structure, and qualifications and resumes for key personnel. - Notable priorities: Improve course conditions and customer service, grow local participation and rounds, attract tournaments, support community golf, maintain sustainable revenues, and reinvest in the facilities. Maintenance work is subject to applicable prevailing-wage requirements. - Contract term: Anticipated initial term of 10 years. The County may negotiate a longer initial term based on the proposed capital investment and may extend the agreement for up to five additional years at its discretion.

Description

Pierce County Parks and Recreation seeks a qualified long-term golf management organization to operate, maintain, market, and enhance Chambers Bay and Lake Spanaway Golf Courses and their associated retail shops, restaurants, and services. The scope includes golf operations, food and beverage, retail, maintenance, landscaping, customer service, financial and operating reports, and capital reinvestment planning. Proposals should address revenue growth and investment, course conditions, community participation, and readiness to host tournaments and major events. The anticipated contract term is April 1, 2027 through March 31, 2037, with the possibility of County extensions.
