Firing Range and Training Facility Use for CHP Beaumont Area Office

The California Highway Patrol is seeking access to a nearby firing range and training facilities for personnel assigned to its Beaumont Area Office. - Government buyer: California State Transportation Agency, Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP), Beaumont Area Office; Business Services Section, Contract Services Unit. - Service requested: Use of a weapons firing range and training facilities, including restrooms, for approximately 54 CHP personnel. The facility must be within 30 miles of the Beaumont Area Office and provide on-site training facilities at no additional charge. - Training needs: .40-caliber and 9mm pistol training (12 sessions annually); .223-caliber tactical rifle training (4 sessions annually, up to 50 yards); and 00 buckshot shotgun training (8 sessions annually, up to 15 yards). The range must support specified qualification distances from 2 to 25 yards, required night training, and agreed make-up sessions. CHP may also conduct weapon test firing after inspections by its Area Weapons Range Officer. - Notable requirements: The contractor must coordinate scheduling with CHP, maintain training and firing areas clear of interfering vegetation or objects, and allow CHP to retain spent brass. The contractor is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, bonds, licenses, permits, and other costs. DVBE participation is waived, although eligible participation may qualify for an incentive. - OEMs and vendors: No manufacturers, OEMs, or contractor vendors are named.

The California Highway Patrol is soliciting bids for weapons firing range use services for the CHP Beaumont Area Office. The solicitation includes one line item for these services.
