Description
The project is to survey Alberta’s Equine Management Zones using a helicopter, fuel, a pilot, a fuel truck, and a driver. The low-altitude, low-airspeed flights will provide a viewing platform to classify feral horses into age categories based on visual features. Proposals may cover all surveys or all surveys based out of one of three airports, but may not be divided further; surveys are ideally conducted on consecutive days, with a break between airports. The work is estimated to require 5–8 days, depending on weather and available daylight, and is anticipated to take place from December 7, 2026, through March 31, 2027.
