The NIH opportunity supports early-stage, multi-site research on complementary and integrative mind and body interventions. - Government buyer: National Institutes of Health (NIH), through the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), Division of Extramural Research. - Opportunity: Grant funding for feasibility trials of mind and body interventions with physical and/or psychological therapeutic inputs, focused on emotional well-being and whole-person health. - Key requirements: Assess intervention delivery fidelity and reproducibility across sites; recruitment, retention, and randomization; and the feasibility of collecting clinical and mechanistic data. Projects should also examine links between changes in mechanisms and clinical outcomes to inform future larger trials and mechanistic mediation analysis. - Funding: Maximum award of $500,000; the expected number of awards is not specified. - OEMs, vendors, products, and quantities: None identified.
Description
The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) seeks applications for early-phase, multi-site feasibility trials of complementary and integrative health mind and body interventions. The trials should assess whether interventions can be delivered with fidelity and engage targeted mechanisms of emotional well-being reproducibly across sites. Applicants are also expected to assess recruitment, retention, randomization, and collection of clinical and mechanistic data, and explore correlations between mechanism changes and clinical outcomes. The work is intended to prepare the field for rigorous clinical trials and mechanistic mediation analysis.
