Description

APHIS prepared a pest risk analysis evaluating the risks of moving fresh wasabi leaves and rhizomes for consumption from Hawaii into the continental United States. This interstate movement is not currently authorized. APHIS determined that one or more designated phytosanitary measures would be sufficient to mitigate risks from plant pests or noxious weeds, and is making the analysis and related risk management document available for public review and comment. Comments are due by December 15, 2026; APHIS will announce its decision on the movement status in a subsequent notice.
