Custom all-aluminum truck body and installation for a Ford F-450

Limestone County is seeking one custom all-aluminum truck body and installation for the Sheriff’s Office on a County-provided Ford F-450 chassis. - Government buyer: Limestone County Commission, Limestone County, Alabama; end user is the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office. - OEMs and named organizations: Ford is the named OEM for the County-provided F-450 cab and chassis. No truck-body manufacturer is specified. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) funding may support the purchase. - Product requested: One custom all-aluminum truck body for a Ford F-450 cab and chassis with a 60-inch cab-to-axle. Equivalent products meeting or exceeding the specifications are acceptable. - Maximum body dimensions: 110 inches long, excluding cab and rear bumper assembly, and 102 inches wide. Construction must use military-grade 5052 and 6061 aluminum and have a black powder-coat finish. - Body layout includes a transverse front compartment, six exterior side doors with adjustable aluminum shelves, full-length topper boxes on both sides, keyed-alike independently lockable compartments, accessible long-item/pole storage, and a clear top-deck area of at least 30 by 60 inches for a customer-supplied folding light tower. - Includes lockable diesel/DEF fill access; a heavy-duty locking tailgate with slam latches and rear step bumper; heavy-duty mud flaps; and a nine-drawer stack in the driver-side front compartment. - Includes two bed slides—one at the rear and one in the passenger-side front compartment—each rated for 1,200 pounds; 6-inch pull-out steps at all four corners; LED exterior and compartment lighting; and two pairs of front- and rear-facing LED load lights. - Includes a reverse-camera mount compatible with the Ford factory camera and an integrated backup camera. The factory power plug for the factory-installed 2,000-watt inverter must be integrated in the passenger-side rear compartment. - Installation and delivery services: Install the body and components on the County-provided chassis, provide technical drawings for design review and a delivery/destination code, test operation with vehicle systems, verify the completed upfit meets or exceeds USDOT standards, and prepare and coordinate shipment to the Sheriff’s Office. Vehicle shipment cost is excluded from the bid. - Warranties and delivery: All components require a minimum lifetime transferable warranty, with at least a one-year warranty on manufacturer-installed equipment. The bidder must state delivery time in calendar days from receipt of the chassis.

Limestone County is seeking bids to purchase a custom truck body for a customer-provided Ford F-450 Cab and Chassis for the Limestone County Sheriff's Office. The invitation includes specifications and related requirements, and the County will consider equivalent products that meet or exceed the stated specifications. The procurement is funded in whole or in part by an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency award, and applicable federal requirements apply. Bids are due October 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. CDT.
