Description

The City of Salem is seeking bids for the safe removal of lead-based paint from the exterior steel fire escapes and associated doors and trim on the north and south sides of Salem City Hall. The work includes preparing metal surfaces to bare metal and wood surfaces to a sound surface, then applying one coat of primer and two finish coats of exterior paint. The contractor must provide the supervision, labor, materials, equipment, containment, testing, transportation, and waste disposal needed to meet applicable lead-based paint requirements. Repairs to broken steps and a platform on the north-side fire escape will be completed by others after paint removal, requiring the contractor to sequence the work and remobilize as described in the Scope of Work.
