The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking specialized RENK equipment services for the CODAG gear plant and clutch aboard USCGC CALHOUN. - Government buyer: Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC); office code USCG-SFLC-LREPL. - OEM and intended contractor: RENK SYSTEMS CORP. The notice describes an intended sole-source award; the contractor must be a certified RENK distributor or service partner. - Equipment and work: Remove, investigate, overhaul or repair, and reinstall the RENK CODAG gear plant and Synchro-Self-Shifting (SSS) gas turbine clutch. The notice identifies the system as critical to onboard potable-water production. - Technical requirements: Ship the clutch to an authorized repair facility; provide an OEM findings and repair-extent report; flush the CCG case and gears with NUTO H-100 oil and perform a full hot lube-oil flush; and test Cruise, GT, and CODAG modes, including underway CODAG verification. The contractor must provide a lifting tool, dispose of generated hazardous materials, and demonstrate operational functionality. Coast Guard personnel provide specified shipboard labor and operate vessel machinery. - Timing: Onsite technical work is expected to take no more than 10 days, including one expected underway day. The inspection/findings report is due within 7 days of clutch arrival at the repair facility, and the final trip report within 5 working days after completion.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG) Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), located at 1 Eagle Road Bldg 55, Alameda CA 94501 is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government’s intent to Award a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contract IAW Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and 13 procedures.

The intended Contractor is RENK SYSTEMS CORP located at 8880 Union Mills DR Camby, Indiana 46113-9705, United States.

This is a critical system used to create potable water on board. procedures pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and FAR Part 13, specifically FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), allowing the Contracting Officer (KO) to solicit from one source.
