Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking 25 cryogenic pressure safety relief valves for the PIP-II Cryogenic Distribution System. - Buyer and project - Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL/Fermilab), U.S. Department of Energy contractor, managed by Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (FFDG); Procurement Department. - The valves are for the PIP-II Cryogenic Distribution System and CM helium service. - OEMs and vendors - No valve OEM or manufacturer is identified in the solicitation or specification. - Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC (also identified as FermiForward and FFDG) is named as Fermilab’s managing organization and in a subcontractor representations and certifications form; it is not identified as the valve OEM. - Products requested: 25 valves total - 18 Cryogenic Relief Valves, tag range SV-nn21 (nn=02–19); no separate manufacturer part number provided. - 6 Cryogenic Relief Valves, tag range SV-nn21 (nn=20–25); no separate manufacturer part number provided. - 1 Cryogenic Relief Valve, identified as SV-0121 in the pricing sheet. The specification describes tag SV-nn21 (nn=01), so the tag differs between documents. - Notable technical and delivery requirements - Valves must meet specification ED0049128 and be suitable for cryogenic helium service, including a minimum design metal temperature of 4 K and a 1.05 barg set pressure. - Required construction includes KEL-F (PCTFE) seats, EPDM static seals, balanced bellows, and provisions for in-situ testing. ASME Section VIII NB/UV stamping and API 527 leak-tightness are specified. - The specification divides the valves into three capacity/orifice groups: 18 API-K valves, 6 API-L valves, and 1 API-J or API-K valve. Each group has its own flow and flange requirements. - Labels and technical documentation are required. Delivery is to the Fermilab site in Batavia, Illinois, with a detailed delivery schedule requested. - Other attachment - A FermiForward subcontractor annual representations and certifications form covers supplier business and compliance information. It is not a valve product or a separately purchased service.

Description

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) is building a next generation proton accelerator called the Proton Improve Plan II (PIP-II). FNAL is soliciting proposals for Reclosable Pressure Safety Relief Valves to protect from overpressure.

Proposals can be submitted directly to the Primary Contact listed on this notice and within the RFP Document. Pricing must be submitted using the Request for Proposal Pricing Sheet, Exhibit G, which is located at the end of the RFP document.
