Description
The project replaces Fire Station 8’s existing roof-mounted 25-ton air handling unit with a new 30-ton unit, including removal, installation, and minor structural reinforcing. The new unit is intended to meet the revised standard of 68 degrees at 50–60% humidity continuously and uses an enthalpy wheel to improve energy efficiency by transferring energy from exhaust air to incoming outdoor air. Work also includes minor ductwork modifications, replacement of acoustical ceiling tile in the Day Room and part of the adjacent Corridor, and adjustment of sprinklers to the new Day Room ceiling height.
