Dane County Job Center and Northport Offices renovation design and construction-phase services

Dane County is seeking architectural and engineering services to design renovations at its Job Center and Human Services Northport Offices. - Government buyer: County of Dane, Department of Administration / Department of Public Works, Public Works Engineering Division; project users include Dane County Human Services, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), and the Veterans Service Office (VSO). - Scope and delivery: Design work is expected to be organized into two construction bid packages: Job Center ADRC and VSO renovations, and Northport Offices renovations. Services include design development, construction documents, bidding support, and construction-phase support through completion; schematic space planning is specifically required for the VSO. - Job Center ADRC: Remodel accessible reception and waiting areas, approximately six private offices where feasible, at least three private client meeting rooms, clerical and storage areas, a public resource display, and an accessible restroom with an adult changing station. Include an accessible exterior entrance and related finish, lighting, security, privacy, and building-system work. - Job Center VSO: Develop space-planning alternatives and design a secure, accessible office environment with at least seven private staff offices, evaluating an eighth where feasible; waiting and front-office areas; storage/print space; a conference/training room for about 10–12 people; and an appeal hearing room. - Northport Offices: Renovate three areas for reunification and visitation services: refresh an existing visitation room and convert an existing waiting area and the Sanitarian space into visitation rooms. Design includes observation glazing, partitions and doors, sink and laundry connections, security/camera provisions, finishes, and related system modifications. Also design entrance and porch improvements, including evaluation of the existing porch ceiling/soffit. - Notable requirements: Verify existing conditions; coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire protection, security, telecommunications, accessibility, and FF&E needs. Designs must support privacy, safety, accessibility, and ongoing operations in occupied facilities, with components advanced on an expedited schedule. Pricing is to be separated by ADRC, VSO, and Northport work. - Qualifications and constraints: The project team must include a registered architect and registered professional engineer; the firm must have at least five years in business and relevant public-sector renovation experience. The agreement is contingent on County budget approval and funding availability. - OEMs and vendors: No commercial OEMs, product manufacturers, or vendors are named. No product models, part numbers, or purchase quantities are specified.
