Iowa State University’s Department of Public Safety is seeking an integrated campus-policing camera and cloud evidence-management solution. - Government buyer: Iowa State University of Science and Technology, Department of Public Safety, Ames, Iowa. - Requested equipment: 46 body cameras; 14 vehicle camera systems (including two Safe Ride vehicles); two fixed booking/interview-room systems; and one portable booking/interview-room system. No new product part numbers are specified. - Cloud evidence solution: Unified storage and case management with unlimited primary video and third-party evidence storage, plus migration of approximately 60 TB from the existing Motorola EL5 server. - Named OEMs and vendors: Motorola (existing cameras and EL5 server), Sierra Wireless (existing MP-70 and MG-90 gateways), Panasonic (existing in-car computers), Milestone Video (existing on-premises security system), Flock LPR, Watchguard (existing 4RE portable DVR), and Watchcomander (existing live-viewing software). These are existing systems or integration references, not mandated brands for the new solution. - Notable camera requirements: Body cameras must be durable, offer at least 30 seconds of video-only pre-recording, support retrieval when recording was not activated, provide GPS and cellular readiness, and run for at least 12 hours. Include one spare battery per camera if batteries are user-swappable. Vehicle systems must support required camera views, LPR integration, event-triggered recording, linked playback with body-camera video, and uploads through existing Sierra Wireless gateways without adding a cellular device with a monthly service charge. - Room and optional CCTV requirements: Room systems need at least two cameras, audio, external activation, evidence-system integration, and remote viewing. The portable system must be quick to set up and take down and support command-center live viewing. Optional emergency-operations viewing should be priced for 100 CCTV cameras, with per-camera or tiered pricing for advanced search. - Security and service requirements: CJIS compliance; security certifications such as SOC 2 and/or ISO/IEC; multifactor authentication, configurable access and retention controls, auditing, secure evidence sharing, GPS mapping, and replacement cameras shipped within five days of a support ticket. Suppliers must provide a HECVAT Lite assessment and VPAT; software is subject to WCAG 2.1 Level AA review. Include implementation, training, support, and clearly identified installation costs.
