The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) is investigating imports of certain fatty acids from Indonesia and Malaysia, rather than seeking to buy goods or services. - Government agency: USITC is conducting the final phase of the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations; the Department of Commerce made preliminary findings that the imports are subsidized and sold at less than fair value. - Investigation scope: Certain fatty acids, including individual fatty acids and blends with specified carbon-chain lengths and characteristics, imported from Indonesia and Malaysia. - Product classification codes: Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheadings 2915.70.01, 2915.90.10, 2916.15.10, 2916.15.51, 3823.11.00, 3823.12.00, 3823.19.20, and 3823.19.40. - Purpose: The USITC will determine whether the imports materially injure or threaten to injure a U.S. industry, or materially retard the establishment of one. - Procurement status: This is a trade investigation notice, not a request for products or services. No vendors, OEMs, quantities, or procurement line items are identified.

Description

The U.S. International Trade Commission has scheduled the final phase of antidumping and countervailing duty investigations concerning imports of fatty acids from Indonesia and Malaysia. The investigations will determine whether those imports materially injure or threaten material injury to a U.S. industry, or materially retard the establishment of an industry. The notice identifies the products’ scope and applicable Harmonized Tariff Schedule subheadings, and states that Commerce preliminarily determined the imports are subsidized and sold at less than fair value. A Commission hearing is scheduled for February 4, 2027.
