The Federal Aviation Administration withdrew a proposed airworthiness directive concerning certain Boeing 787 airplanes; this notice does not announce a procurement.
Description
The Federal Aviation Administration is withdrawing a proposed rule for an airworthiness directive covering certain Boeing Model 787-8, 787-9, and 787-10 airplanes. The proposed directive addressed reports of VHF radio frequencies changing between tuning control panel windows without flightcrew input, which could cause missed communications with Air Traffic Control. It would have required an update to the tuning control panel operational software and a software configuration check. The FAA determined that the specified software version does not correct the unsafe condition, so the proposed rule is withdrawn as of October 14, 2026.
