Description
The Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group has prepared the Final Phase 2 Restoration Plan/Environmental Assessment #8.1 and a Finding of No Significant Impact for restoration projects addressing wetlands, coastal, and nearshore habitats injured by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The plan evaluates three design alternatives for each project and selects preferred alternatives for implementation: East Orleans Landbridge Restoration and Raccoon Island Restoration. The selected projects include wetland and barrier island habitat restoration, shoreline protection, and breakwater and living shoreline work. Their combined estimated implementation cost is approximately $265.7 million, funded through the Wetlands, Coastal, and Nearshore Habitats Restoration Type allocation.
