Janitorial services for three Town of Chapel Hill facilities

The Town of Chapel Hill is seeking a contractor to provide recurring janitorial services at three municipal facilities. - Government buyer: Town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Purchasing and Contracts Manager. - Facilities: Chapel Hill Public Works Campus, Chapel Hill Post Office and Courthouse Facility, and Town Hall. - Services requested: Five-day-per-week basic cleaning, excluding holidays, with daily through quarterly tasks; labor, supervision, equipment, cleaning products, materials, and consumables are contractor-provided. Optional work includes floor care, carpet and upholstery deep cleaning, and interior glass cleaning. - Notable requirements: Coordinate Post Office and courthouse cleaning with USPS and Orange County Courts, and secure the Post Office lobby after cleaning. Town Hall cleaning products must be Green Seal-certified or included in EPA Safer Choice, subject to the stated exception; disinfection must use EPA-registered products or devices. Town Hall waste streams include trash, mixed recycling, and compost. - OEMs and vendors: No product manufacturers, OEMs, or prospective janitorial vendors are named. USPS and Orange County Courts are identified for facility coordination, not as vendors. - Term: Services are anticipated to begin in early 2027, with a one-year initial term and up to four additional one-year renewals.

Description

The Town of Chapel Hill is requesting proposals from qualified organizations to provide janitorial services at the Chapel Hill Public Works Campus, the Chapel Hill Post Office and Courthouse Facility, and Chapel Hill Town Hall. The scope includes establishing one or more contracts for professional janitorial services, including labor, equipment, and supplies. Attendance at the October 22, 2026 pre-proposal meeting and site visit is mandatory to submit a proposal; proposals are due by email on November 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM EST.
