Description

The Federal Aviation Administration, in cooperation with the United States Air Force, announces public review of the Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the proposed Anchorage Terminal Area Airspace and Procedures Study (ATAAPS), along with a public comment period and two virtual workshops. The study evaluates environmental impacts of proposed changes to airspace, aircraft routes, and altitudes in the Anchorage basin and surrounding areas, including procedures serving five area airports; it considers both the Proposed Action and the No Action alternative. Proposed elements include revised airspace boundaries and updated arrival and departure routes and fixes using advanced RNAV capabilities. The FAA has not made a final decision on related airspace or procedure amendments, and the Proposed Action is not anticipated to increase aircraft operations or involve physical construction.
