NOAA has adjusted Pacific cod catch limits among fishing sectors in the Western Gulf of Alaska; this is a fisheries management action, not a procurement opportunity. - Government buyer/agency: U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), through the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). - Catch-limit changes: NMFS reallocates 550 metric tons from trawl-gear catcher vessels and 100 metric tons from trawl-gear catcher/processors. - Additional allocations: Hook-and-line catcher vessels receive 250 metric tons, and pot-gear vessels receive 400 metric tons. - Revised sector allocations: Trawl-gear catcher vessels: 1,956 metric tons; trawl-gear catcher/processors: 57 metric tons; hook-and-line catcher vessels: 341 metric tons; pot-gear vessels: 2,880 metric tons. - Procurement details: No OEMs, vendors, products, or services are requested; there are no product or service line items.

Description

NMFS is reallocating projected unused Pacific cod amounts from catcher vessels and catcher/processors using trawl gear to catcher vessels using hook-and-line gear and vessels using pot gear in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska. The reallocation is intended to allow the 2026 total allowable catch of Pacific cod in that area to be harvested. The revised allocations are 1,956 metric tons to catcher vessels using trawl gear, 57 metric tons to catcher/processors using trawl gear, 341 metric tons to catcher vessels using hook-and-line gear, and 2,880 metric tons to vessels using pot gear. The temporary rule is effective from October 13, 2026, through December 31, 2026, Alaska local time.
