The Massachusetts Military Division is seeking vegetation mowing and hazardous-fuel reduction at Camp Edwards to restore fire-access roads and reduce wildfire risk. - Government buyer: Commonwealth of Massachusetts Military Division, within the Executive Office of Public Safety & Security; work is for the Massachusetts Army National Guard at Camp Edwards in Bourne, Massachusetts. - OEMs and vendors: No OEMs, product manufacturers, or vendors are named in the solicitation materials. - Requested services and quantities: - Mow vegetation along approximately 7.2 miles of impact-area roads, including roadbeds and roadside buffers where feasible. - Mow up to 52 acres of legacy range areas, treating regenerating pitch pine and vegetation encroaching on roads and range floors. - Mow up to 100 acres of shrubland and range areas, including Training Area E-5 and Sierra Range; fell or mow dead trees and snags. The specified southwestern/western portion of E-5 has an assumed average of 20 snags per acre. - Contractor supplies all labor, equipment, tools, and supervision. Pricing is requested per mile for impact-area road mowing and per acre for acreage treatments. - Notable requirements: Coordinate work with Camp Edwards Range Operations and, for central impact-area work, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Personnel must complete unexploded-ordnance training and follow site safety, access, and tree standoff restrictions. A valid Massachusetts Timber Harvesting license is required; equipment must be cleaned before entering the site to limit invasive-species spread, and crews must carry fire extinguishers and spill-control materials. Work should occur in relatively dry conditions. Impact-area road restoration is the priority, and lower-priority acreage may be reduced depending on cost and funding. - Estimated contract value: $495,000.
