The National Research Council of Canada is seeking an integrated airborne LiDAR package for RPAS-based land and shallow-water surveys. - Government buyer: National Research Council Canada (NRC), through its Centre for Drone Innovation and Drone and Flight Autonomy Laboratory (DFAL), for the Remote Sensing Imaging Group (RSIG). - OEMs and vendors named: Applanix is named as the GNSS/INS post-processing workflow the system must support. No manufacturer or vendor is specified for the LiDAR system itself. - Products requested: - One integrated RPAS-deployable topographic and bathymetric LiDAR system, including 532 nm green laser, survey-grade GNSS/INS, and a co-aligned RGB camera of at least 20 MP. - Required acquisition and hydrographic-processing software licences, including compatibility with NRC’s Applanix POSPac workflow. - Key technical requirements: Unconditional full-waveform recording; selectable measurement rates of at least 200 kHz; at least 15 returns per pulse and 16-bit intensity; selectable beam divergence of at least 1–6 mrad; at least 2 m penetration in clear water; and a field of view of at least 40 degrees. Payload must weigh no more than 12 kg, use 18–34 VDC, meet IP64 protection, operate to -10°C, and tolerate storage and transport to -20°C. - Included deliverables and services: Factory boresight and camera calibration with documentation, technical documentation, shipping to NRC-DFAL, and comprehensive operations and processing training for up to four NRC personnel. Includes manufacturer warranty and technical support for at least 12 months after acceptance, software updates, and manufacturer or authorized-provider repairs and recalibration. - Performance and delivery: The contract is expected to run for about four months, with delivery required within 12 weeks of award or on a mutually agreed schedule. The warranty period begins at acceptance.

Description

The National Research Council of Canada requires one integrated topographic and bathymetric LiDAR system deployable from its medium-class remotely piloted aircraft systems. The system must collect above-water topography and shallow-water bathymetry, with integrated GNSS/INS and RGB camera, data storage, manufacturer-supported processing software, calibration and technical documentation. The procurement also includes comprehensive operations and workflow training for up to four NRC personnel, warranty and technical support. Delivery is required within 12 weeks of contract award, or on a mutually agreed date.
