The USDA Forest Service is seeking longleaf pine timber stand improvement across approximately 1,575 acres in Florida’s Ocala National Forest. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service; Ocala National Forest, Lake George Ranger District (USDA-FS, CSA East 8). - Requested service: Timber stand improvement on approximately 1,575 acres, with mapped work areas in specified forest compartments and stands across Lake, Putnam, and Marion Counties. - Treatment requirements: Cut designated sand pines and small oaks, including sand pine and oak under 5 inches diameter at breast height; retain all longleaf pines and avoid large or flagged oaks. Cut trees completely at the base, with stumps no higher than 3 inches. - Contractor responsibilities: Provide labor, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, and personal protective equipment. Crews must be equipped to treat approximately 15 acres per day, and each crew must have a designated non-working, English-speaking supervisor. Similar work areas may be substituted if original areas become unsuitable. - OEMs and vendors: No OEMs, manufacturers, or vendors are named in the opportunity. - Performance period: Approximately five months, spanning late fall through early spring; no options or annual subscription are indicated.

Description

Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision to cut small oaks and pines in longleaf pine plantations on approximately 1,575 acres within the Ocala National Forest. Work includes cutting designated trees using approved tools. The Contracting Officer may substitute similar areas if original locations become unsuitable.
