Description

The Department of Education is proposing a revision to the currently approved information collection request for the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) for 2026-27 through 2028-29. IPEDS is a web-based system that collects basic data from postsecondary institutions in the United States and other jurisdictions, including information on admissions, enrollment, awards, tuition, financial aid, outcomes, finances, faculty, and staff. The proposed changes are limited to the Admissions and Consumer Transparency Supplement, including eligibility criteria, the aggregator tool, variables, and clarifications to instructions and item definitions; other survey components are unchanged. Comments are invited on or before December 8, 2026.
