NARA Artifact Conservation Services Vendor Pool

NARA is establishing a three-year pool of conservation specialists to support preservation work across its Presidential Libraries and Museums. - Government buyer: National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Office of the Chief Acquisition Officer, for the Office of the Presidential Libraries and Research Services, Preservation Programs. - Scope: More than 60 projects involving over 2,600 artifacts across 16 Presidential Libraries and Museums. - Services requested: Assessments, treatment proposals, conservation and treatment of objects, furniture, sculpture, paintings, textiles, and works on paper; written and photographic treatment records; secure packing, crating, transport, and transit insurance; and storage mounts or housings. - Project delivery: Travel and per diem may be reimbursed for on-site work, subject to applicable limits. Specific project scopes, quantities, pricing, and schedules will be set through later competitions; joining the pool does not guarantee work or funding. - OEMs and vendors: No specific OEMs or vendors are named.

Description

This request for quote seeks to establish a vendor Pool of conservation specialists to support the National Archives and Records Administration and NARA's Presidential Libraries.  The vendor pool will provide professional artifact conservation services to assess, stabilize, treat, and document highly significant, measurably fragile museum artifacts held across NARA's sixteen (16) Presidential Libraries and Museums (PLs).  NARA will award an estimated 60 conservation projects over about 3.5 years.
