NASA sole-source award for EarthDaily Analytics SLI commercialization support

NASA issued a sole-source award for a one-year effort to support its Sustainable Land Imaging (SLI) Commercialization project and commercial Earth-observation data strategy. - Agency and action: NASA Headquarters, with work supporting NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, issued a sole-source justification and awarded the work to EarthDaily Analytics under a firm-fixed-price arrangement. - Purpose: Help NASA formulate how commercial satellite observations can contribute to Landsat-class products and advance the SLI project toward Key Decision Point-A (KDP-A). - Services: Engage and onboard commercial Earth-observation vendors; develop product, metadata, and compliance requirements; assess sensor capabilities; support validation workflows and calibration planning; study processing architecture, multi-vendor data fusion, interoperability, and hybrid-cloud operations; and assess data-as-a-service business models. - Sole-source basis: NASA cites specialized, mission-specific commercial Earth-observation expertise as necessary to meet the requirements. - Scope limits: No physical products, product quantities, or part numbers are specified. Description

This notice provides the Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) supporting the sole-source award for Earth science data observations and SLI Commercialization project formulation support services, including commercial Earth observation vendor engagement, product requirements development, certification workflow support, calibration and validation planning, and technical strategy support for the Sustainable Land Imaging-Framework for Unified Land Surface Imaging Operation and Integration (SLI Commercialization project). The required period of performance is September 25, 2026, through September 24, 2027.

NASA/GSFC has awarded Contract 80HQTR26C0010 to EarthDaily Analytics USA, Inc. under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(a)(1), “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” EarthDaily is the only responsible source capable of performing the requirements of this action because the SLI Commercialization project formulation effort requires a highly specialized and uniquely qualified provider with proven, mission-specific commercial Earth observation expertise.
