DHA is conducting market research on focused electro-hydraulic shockwave therapy equipment for Wilford Hall Medical Center; this notice is not a solicitation. - Buying activity: Defense Health Agency (DHA), Healthcare Contracting Division – South, on behalf of Wilford Hall Medical Center. - Procurement status: Sources-sought market research only. No award, solicitation, OEM, brand, model, part number, or purchase quantity is identified. The Government says it may consider a sole-source contract if responses do not establish potential for competition. - Equipment sought: A focused extracorporeal shockwave therapy device using electro-hydraulic, underwater electrical “spark gap” generation and an ellipsoidal reflector to focus energy on target tissue. - Key requirements: The notice specifies energy flux density as “at least >0.12 or >0.28 mJ/mm²,” a single treatment protocol, capacity for up to “ten (12)” therapeutic sessions per day, and operation from a standard 120V outlet. The energy threshold and daily-session figure are stated inconsistently in the notice and may require clarification. - Clinical use: Current, serviceable equipment suitable for treating chronic musculoskeletal conditions, including plantar fasciitis, epicondylitis, and calcific tendinopathy. - Requested response: Company and socioeconomic information, plus a capability statement of no more than ten pages. Supporting material may include product literature, installation locations, and documentation demonstrating greater than 80 percent effectiveness. - Commercial context: No quantity or budget is provided, so any value estimate is indicative only.
Description
The Healthcare Contracting Division - South is issuing this Sources Sought Notice on behalf of Wilford Hall Medical Center to find potential sources to obtain Shockwave Therapy equipment in that will provide both underwater electrical “spark gap” and an ellipsoidal reflector to concentrate shock-wave energy at a defined focal point in the target tissue. It must generate a high-energy acoustic shock wave
