Upriver Dam spillway gantry crane and anchor replacement

The City of Spokane is seeking a contractor to replace the Upriver Dam spillway gantry crane and anchor. - Government buyer: City of Spokane, Water & Hydroelectric Department; Purchasing Department. The work is at Upriver Dam in Spokane, Washington. - Procurement: Fabricate and deliver a new outdoor 3-ton gantry crane and gantry anchor; remove and dispose of the existing crane; install, connect, test, and commission the replacement system; and restore the site. - The crane system calls for two 1.5-ton hoists with motorized underhung trolleys. Mesa Associates, Inc. prepared the structural design documents; LSB Consulting provided the gantry anchor design plans. Neither is identified as the crane equipment supplier. - Notable requirements: Outdoor-rated equipment; wireless controls; safety, locking, and travel-limiting devices; a wind alarm; and owner-witnessed testing and commissioning. Preliminary planning indicates an approximately eight-month construction period. The engineer’s estimate is $800,000.
