Alaska Railroad Corporation seeks as-needed rental of construction, material-handling, and support equipment

The Alaska Railroad Corporation is seeking on-demand equipment rentals for its statewide rail belt and properties through a blanket purchase order. - Government buyer: Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC), Supply Management; contact: Nancy Lee. - Procurement: As-needed, non-exclusive rental of equipment, with no guaranteed rental volume or specified quantities, makes, models, part numbers, or OEMs. ARRC may make multiple awards by equipment category or line item. - Equipment categories requested: - Earth movers and trucks, including side dumps, heavy-duty terminal trucks for moving semi-trailers, and sweepers - Loaders; excavators and backhoes; dozers; graders - Generators, lights, and heaters; light towers - Mobile articulating work platforms; bidders must provide platform height, reach, and lift capacity - Forklifts, including rough-terrain models; compactors, including plate compactors and drum rollers - Rates and rental requirements: Bidders must identify equipment by make/model or description and provide daily, weekly, and monthly rates. Equipment must be properly maintained and meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements. Delivery, mobilization, demobilization, freight, and transportation charges must be separately identified and charged only when authorized. - Contract term: One year beginning upon execution, with up to four additional one-year renewals at ARRC’s option; maximum potential term is five years.

Description

The Alaska Railroad Corporation is soliciting bids to provide various pieces of equipment for rental as needed along its rail belt and properties. The contract begins upon award and may, at ARRC’s option, continue for four additional one-year periods. Bids must be submitted using the included bid forms in a sealed envelope and delivered to the specified address by October 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM local time; email and fax bids will be considered non-responsive. The solicitation may be funded in part by the Federal Transit Administration and/or Federal Railroad Administration.
