North Carolina request for Capri Breeze and Purple Heart Poplin fabric

North Carolina is seeking domestic poplin fabric for the Tabor City Sewing Plant under an as-needed term contract. - Government buyer: North Carolina Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC), Division of Adult Correction, Tabor City Sewing Plant. - Products and estimated annual quantities: - Capri Breeze Poplin: 20,000 yards; Pantone 17-4735-TCX. - Purple Heart Poplin: 20,000 yards; Pantone 18-3520-TCX. - Neither quantity is guaranteed; the State commits to no minimum or maximum purchases. - Fabric requirements for both items: 65% polyester/35% cotton poplin, minimum finished weight of 4.25 oz/sq yd, minimum cuttable width of 63 inches, specified yarn and strength characteristics, shrinkage no greater than 2%, and a pilling rating of 4 or better. Fabric must have permanent-press, soil-release, and crease-resistant finishes and use vat and disperse dyeing, not pigment dyes. - Notable requirements: Domestic product is required, and 10% of the first-year contract must be housed in the United States. Samples are required. - OEMs and vendors: No manufacturers, OEMs, or vendors are named in the available notice or attachment. - Performance period: Three years beginning upon final contract execution; orders are placed as needed.

Description

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is soliciting bids to establish an agency-specific term contract for furnishing and delivering Purple Heart Poplin and Capri Breeze Poplin to the Tabor City Sewing Plant. Fabric will be ordered on an as-needed basis during the contract period for Correction Enterprises Sewing Plant operations. The State guarantees neither a minimum nor a maximum quantity. Samples are available upon request using a prepaid shipping label.
