Description

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The remains represent at least 26 individuals and were removed from the Karow and Cowling Cemetery sites in Winnebago County, Wisconsin; the inventory also includes 284 associated funerary objects. The notice identifies Indian Tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations with a connection to the remains and objects. Repatriation may occur on or after November 9, 2026, and written requests are to be sent to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
