Description

The Environmental Protection Agency is approving a State Implementation Plan revision submitted by Georgia through the Georgia Environmental Protection Division on June 27, 2024. The revision removes obsolete nonattainment permitting requirements, including nonattainment new source review, from Georgia’s SIP and removes certain provisions concerning emission reduction credits. It also makes other rule changes because no areas in Georgia are designated as nonattainment for the National Ambient Air Quality Standards. EPA is approving the revisions under the Clean Air Act, and the final rule takes effect November 9, 2026.
