Description
California State University, Chico (Chico State) completed an inventory of two lots of associated funerary objects: modified lithic materials and shells. Chico State determined that the objects are culturally affiliated with the Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria, California, and the Mooretown Rancheria of Maidu Indians of California. Repatriation requests may be submitted by the identified tribes and certain other eligible requestors. Repatriation may occur on or after November 9, 2026.
