Description

Under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District intends to carry out disposition of human remains removed from Federal or Tribal lands. The remains represent 14 individuals of Native American ancestry, identified in Campbell and Walworth Counties, South Dakota; no funerary or other cultural objects were located. The Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Reservation, North Dakota, have priority for disposition. Disposition may occur on or after November 9, 2026, and claims must be received by October 8, 2027 to avoid the remains becoming unclaimed.
