Description
NMFS is prohibiting directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels using pot gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska. The closure is intended to prevent exceeding the 2026 total allowable catch allocated to that gear sector and area. It is effective from October 7, 2026, through December 31, 2026. While the closure is in effect, maximum retainable amounts apply.
