Preliminary Antidumping Results for South Korean Corrosion-Resistant Steel

The U.S. Department of Commerce issued preliminary trade findings on corrosion-resistant steel from South Korea; this is not a government procurement solicitation. - Government offices: U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. - Scope: Administrative review of antidumping duties on certain corrosion-resistant steel products from the Republic of Korea. No products or services are being requested for purchase. - Preliminary margins: KG Dongbu Steel Co., Ltd. received 23.40%; Dongkuk Coated Metal Co., Ltd. and Aju Steel Co., Ltd., treated as a single entity, received 19.43%; and companies not individually examined received 20.58%. - Companies identified for the 20.58% rate: Hyundai Steel Company, POSCO, POSCO International Corporation, SeAH Coated Metal, and SeAH Steel Corporation. - Review rescissions: Commerce is rescinding the review for Dongbu Incheon Steel Co., Ltd., Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd., POSCO Coated & Color Steel Co., Ltd., and TCC Steel Corp. because there were no reviewable suspended entries. - The notice addresses assessment rates and future cash-deposit requirements, and allows interested parties to comment on the preliminary results.

Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce preliminarily determines that producers and exporters subject to the administrative review made sales of corrosion-resistant steel products from the Republic of Korea at less than normal value during the period July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025. The notice presents preliminary weighted-average dumping margins and invites interested parties to comment. Commerce is rescinding the review in part for companies with no reviewable, suspended entries during the period of review. The notice also describes procedures for comments and hearings, assessment rates, and cash deposit requirements.
