Rock Island Arsenal procurement for 4130 steel bar

The U.S. Army is seeking a specialty 4130 steel bar for Rock Island Arsenal’s manufacturing center. - Government buyer: U.S. Army, Army Contracting Command–Rock Island (ACC-RI), supporting Rock Island Arsenal’s Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC); buyer contact named in the attachment: Andrew Owens. - Procurement: 12 feet of 4130 steel bar, 0.375-inch diameter, to SAE AMS-S-6758; through-hardened to 33–38 HRC and turned, ground, and polished. Material is to be supplied in 12-foot lengths. - Quality and traceability: The manufacturing mill must hold AS9100 certification. The vendor must hold AS9120 certification or a certified ISO 9001 quality management system. Strict traceability, certificates of conformance, and certified test results are required. - Packaging and delivery: Protect material in wooden boxes; securely band it to a pallet or skid for flatbed delivery. Loads with multiple heat numbers must be separated by heat number, and bundles may not exceed 5,000 pounds. Delivery is to Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois. - OEMs and vendors: No specific OEM, manufacturer, or vendor is named in the provided materials.

Description

The Rock Island Arsenal has a requirement for the following item.

The Government intends to make a firm fixed price (FFP) award to the lowest priced, responsive, responsible vendor whose quote, conforms to the RFQ requirements and represents the lowest total evaluated price. Discussions are not anticipated.

Payment will be completed via Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)
