USDA APHIS Wildlife Services Guam is seeking scientific consulting to test and improve brown treesnake barriers and develop better control tools. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services (WS), Guam State Office (WS-Guam). - Requirement: Scientific consulting for brown treesnake barrier testing and improvement, data analysis, and development or improvement of traps and other removal tools. - Work includes developing and testing barrier modifications at U.S. Marine Corps sites, analyzing test data and photographs, providing statistical analyses and recommendations, and retesting deficient gates or fence sections after upgrades. New tools must be field-tested and troubleshot on Guam. - Contractor qualifications and access: Direct brown treesnake experience is required. The contractor must be able to obtain DBIDS or CAC access for military sites. - Deliverables and timing: A kick-off meeting is due within 30 days of award. Description
The United States Department of Agriculture - Wildlife Services is looking for scientific consultation directly related to the Brown Tree Snake and barrier testing. Reference the attached Performance Work Statement for specific details. Only direct experience with Brown Tree Snake biology, ecology, and locomotion will be acceptable due to the documented unique climbing ability of the BTS compared to other arboreal snakes.
There is no solicitation at this time. This is a request for capability information for market research purposes only. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of the acquisition. Submission of any information in response to this notice is purely voluntary. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. All interested parties are invited to submit capability statements for acquisition planning purposes.
