NASA Glenn Research Center is seeking a one-set hydraulic water-cooled wedge-grip assembly and related items for an Instron test frame under a proposed sole-source procurement. - Buyer and location: NASA Shared Services Center is handling the procurement for NASA Glenn Research Center’s Ceramic and Energy Storage Branch (LMC0). - Procurement approach: NASA identifies Illinois Tool Works Inc. as the sole provider and is requesting capability statements to determine whether there is a basis to compete the procurement. Quotes are not requested or evaluated. - Required equipment: One set of upper and lower water-cooled hydraulic wedge grips for an Instron Model 68TM50B26981 electro-mechanical test frame.  SPECIAL NOTICE:

VENDORS MUST REFERENCE THE NOTICE ID WHEN SUBMITTING A CAPABILITY STATEMENT.

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Hydraulic Wedge Grips for Instron 68TM50B26981 Test Frame. 

NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC.is the sole provider of Hydraulic Wedge Grips for Instron 68TM50B26981 Test Frame.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Glenn Research Center (GRC).

The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial

The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334519.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 10/12/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
