Ocean County’s Sheriff’s Office is seeking one used medical ambulance bus, specified as a Freightliner MB from model year 2013 or newer or an equivalent vehicle. - Buyer: County of Ocean, New Jersey — Sheriff’s Office, based in Toms River. - Quantity and vehicle: One pre-owned medical ambulance bus with an MBC chassis, 32,000-pound GVWR, rear-wheel drive, 6.7L Cummins ISB engine rated at 260 HP, and Allison 2500 PTS automatic transmission. - Named OEMs and brands: Freightliner Custom Chassis (or comparable), Cummins, Allison, Iota, Onan, Q-Straint, Ferno, Coleman Mach (or comparable), and Sound Off Signal (or comparable). - Patient capacity and equipment: Driver seating plus seating for 12 ambulatory patients; four removable stretcher locations with at least two stretchers included (one powered and one manual); and 4–6 wheelchair restraint locations. Includes four stretcher mounts, a lockdown bar, and Q-Straint restraints and anchorage. - Vehicle systems and features: 220 VAC, 50-amp shore power; Iota 1,300-watt inverter; Cummins (Onan) 10 kW diesel generator; power distribution and battery maintenance; 12V/120V refrigerator; self-stowing aluminum litter ramp; powered roof vent; smoke alarm; backup camera; interior lighting; patient-station 120V receptacles; at least two roof-mounted air conditioners; and an emergency lighting and audible warning package. - Other equipment: Heavy-duty 22.5x8.25 steel wheels; specified front and rear tires (Y514-DRCT-000 and Y516-DRCT-000); Softek 12K front and Airliner 20K rear suspension; air brakes; power steering; 15-foot electric retractable awning; and lockable overhead and at least five exterior storage compartments. - Notable requirements: The vehicle and accessories must be complete and operational, include a title, and be available for County inspection before purchase. The County of Ocean is seeking a contractor to supply one used Freightliner MB medical ambulance bus, model year 2013 or newer, or an equivalent vehicle. The specifications include ambulance-bus features and equipment such as patient and wheelchair seating/restraints, stretcher mounts, power systems, storage, air conditioning, emergency lighting, and a backup camera. The proposed vehicle must be complete and in working condition, include a title, and be available for County inspection before purchase.
