Description
NHTSA is seeking public comments on its request to reinstate a previously approved information collection concerning consumer complaints about motor vehicles and motor vehicle equipment. Consumers submit complaints voluntarily through NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline, website, or correspondence, and the agency uses the information to identify potential safety-related defects, support investigations or recalls, and monitor recall efforts. The notice estimates 63,998 respondents and 67,366 complaints annually, with an estimated annual burden of 11,227 hours. Comments are due December 7, 2026.
