FTA Information Collections for Urbanized Area Formula and New Freedom Transit Programs

The Federal Transit Administration is seeking approval to continue two transit grant information collections, not purchasing products or services. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Office of Management Planning. - Information collections: - 49 U.S.C. 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program (OMB control number 2132-0502): information from an estimated 5,864 respondents, including grant applications, project descriptions and budgets, programs of projects, milestone schedules, environmental classifications, labor-protection documentation, certifications and assurances, Milestone Progress Reports, and Federal Financial Reports. - 49 U.S.C. 5317 New Freedom Program (OMB control number 2132-0565): information from 13 recipients of remaining legacy grants to monitor project implementation and completion; recipients also make information available to the public and publish programs of projects identifying subrecipients and funded projects. - No OEMs, commercial vendors, products, or product quantities are identified. Description

The Federal Transit Administration intends to request Office of Management and Budget approval to extend, without change, the existing information collection for the 49 U.S.C. 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program. The program provides federal transit capital and operating assistance and transportation-related planning support to designated recipients. Information collected includes project descriptions, budgets, project schedules, certifications and assurances, and periodic progress and financial reports. Comments must be submitted before December 7, 2026.
