Description

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities plans to mitigate rockfall hazards on North Douglas Highway from MP 9.9 to 10.4 in Juneau, Alaska. The proposed work includes stabilizing rock slopes, scaling loose rocks and debris, and clearing and reconstructing rockfall catchment areas. Construction is projected to begin in 2028, and environmental review is anticipated to result in a Categorical Exclusion. DOT&PF is soliciting comments on potential environmental, social, and economic impacts by November 5, 2026.
