Temporary cardiothoracic surgery advanced practice provider placement services

The University of Iowa is seeking locum tenens advanced practice providers to support its cardiothoracic surgery program. - Buyer and office - University of Iowa, for University of Iowa Health Care’s Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery; Purchasing Department is identified in the agreement template. - Andy Lane is named in the bid attachment. - Services requested - Temporary placement of Physician Associates or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs); no staffing supplier is named and no provider quantity is specified. - Providers need applicable Iowa licensure and certification, relevant clinical experience, strong communication skills, and eligibility for University hospital privileges. - Required experience includes cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures, including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting), TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement), AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm), AVR (aortic valve replacement), and MVR (mitral valve replacement). Case needs include adult cardiac bypass and valve procedures, aneurysms, dissections, Impella/LVAD support, and heart transplantation; vascular surgery cases are excluded. - OEM/system: The solicitation identifies the EVH system as the “Gentinge Hemopro” system. Open or endoscopic radial artery harvesting and thoracic robotic experience are helpful but not required. - Notable requirements - Suppliers should explain provider recruitment and vetting, available APP capacity, placement experience and turnaround, fees, and any conversion or buyout terms. Three service references are requested. - The agreement template also includes background-check, accessibility, and University Data protection requirements, including encryption, incident reporting, data purging, restrictions on AI use, and U.S.-only access. - Term - One initial year, with up to four additional one-year extensions by mutual written consent; maximum potential term is five years.
