Description

The City of Waukee seeks an artist to design and paint a mural on the interior sides of a pedestrian/bicycle underpass beside its new Public Safety Facility on the Racoon River Valley Trail. The mural should be one cohesive, original work with a wildflowers/nature theme or an overall message of welcome, and must use spray, acrylic-based, and/or exterior paint. The artist is responsible for power washing, priming, and other wall preparation; the artwork is considered temporary, with an anticipated lifespan of up to five years. The preliminary maximum project budget is $10,000, including design, materials, preparation, installation, and related costs; submissions are due November 2, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. CST.
