The State of Hawaii’s Agribusiness Development Corporation is seeking interim operation and maintenance of the Kawaiele pump station and related drainage infrastructure in Kekaha, Kauai. - Government buyer: Agribusiness Development Corporation (ADC), State of Hawaii Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism; ADC office. - OEMs and vendors: No commercial OEMs, manufacturers, or service vendors are named. The pumps and transmission infrastructure are existing equipment to be operated and maintained, not new purchases. - Requested services: - Operate, inspect, repair, and maintain one 100-HP pump and two 200-HP pumps, along with valves, controls, pipes, and related station components. The system pumps an average of approximately 17 million gallons per day. - Inspect and maintain electrical transmission poles and lines, including transformers, guy wires, cross arms, and insulators; perform preventive tree trimming and approved electrical repairs. - Coordinate and supervise ADC-approved additional work, including engine servicing and repairs, with contingency work capped at $25,000. - Notable requirements: Maintain at least 95% pump operational uptime; conduct weekday operations and daily visual inspections; cycle each pump at least weekly for at least 20 minutes; provide qualified staff when operator attendance is required; and assign a qualified on-island project manager. Applicable Hawaii contractor licensing is required, including General Contractor A and/or C-13, C-15, or C-37e, as applicable. - Term: One-year base period beginning with the written Notice to Proceed, with up to two consecutive one-year extensions by mutual written agreement. ADC may terminate on 30 days’ written notice, including when its long-term operations and maintenance contract is in place.
