Description

The Department of Energy gives notice that Freedom LNG LLC applied for long-term, multi-contract authorization to export up to approximately 343 Bcf per year of U.S.-sourced natural gas by pipeline to Mexico. The application also seeks authorization to re-export 307 Bcf per year of that gas as LNG by vessel from the proposed BRAVO LNG Project near the Port of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The requested authorization term is 20 years after commercial exports begin, and the application was filed under the Natural Gas Act. Protests, intervention filings, and written comments are due by 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time on December 7, 2026.
