NASA/NSSC is seeking market capability information for two custom solid etalons for NASA Langley Research Center, with a proposed sole-source award to LIGHTMACHINERY INC. - Procurement approach: NASA/NSSC identifies LIGHTMACHINERY INC as the sole provider and is considering a sole-source purchase. This is not a request for quotes; interested organizations may submit written capability statements to help determine whether the requirement should be competed. - Quantity and item: Two fused-silica solid etalons; no part number is provided. - Key requirements: 400 pm free spectral range; 467.8423 nm vacuum center wavelength at 45°C, with tolerance of +0/-30 pm; transmission bandwidth of 40 pm ±10 pm; maximum transmission above 80% (90% goal); and a field of view greater than 8–9 mrad while meeting the other specifications. - Construction and dimensions: Coated etalons bonded with Norland 61 between fused-silica annular pieces; 32 mm coating aperture, clear aperture greater than 26.8 mm, 45.0 ±0.1 mm outside diameter including mounting ring, and 17.018 mm ±0.035 mm total thickness including mounting ring. - Operating conditions and adjustment: 45–60°C operating range and approximately 2.9 pm/°C temperature tuning rate. Polishing after NASA testing may be required to achieve the exact wavelength. - Delivery and location: Two months after receipt of order; NASA Langley Research Center.
