Description
NMFS is prohibiting directed fishing for Pacific ocean perch in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska. The closure is intended to prevent the 2026 total allowable catch from being exceeded. It is effective from 1200 hours Alaska local time on October 1, 2026, through 2400 hours Alaska local time on December 31, 2026. While the closure is in effect, maximum retainable amounts under 50 CFR 679.20(e) and (f) apply during any trip.
