Ontonagon River Bridge Replacement Construction

The USDA Forest Service is seeking a contractor to replace the FR 6930 bridge over the Cisco Branch of the Ontonagon River in Michigan. - Government buyer: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service (Eastern Region); solicitation office is USDA-FS CSA East 13. Project plans identify the Ottawa National Forest, Watersmeet Ranger District. Paul Boucher is named in the solicitation. - Scope: Remove the existing bridge and build an approximately 70-foot, single-span concrete I-girder bridge with a concrete deck and abutments on H-pile foundations. Work also includes approaches, roadway and drainage work, guardrails, riprap, slope restoration, and erosion controls. - OEMs and vendors: No product manufacturers, OEMs, or construction vendors are named. Materials are specified by type and applicable standards rather than brand or part number. - Construction requirements: The contractor provides labor, materials, and incidentals. Work must start within 14 days after notice to proceed and be completed within 180 calendar days; no option periods are stated. In-stream work is limited to the summer work window, and tree cutting is restricted to the winter period. Traffic control, erosion and sediment controls, and permit compliance are required. - Additional specifications: Design speed is 25 mph and traffic volume is under 100 vehicles per day. A Michigan highway-construction prevailing-wage determination is included. The plans specify a detour of about 29 miles during the permitted road closure. - Estimated construction magnitude: $1,000,000–$1,500,000.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12.  This announcement constitutes the only solicitation.  Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. 

Solicitation number 12445527Q0001 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) For the Removal and replacement of an existing concrete bridge with a 70 foot (overall length) single span concrete I-girder bridge with a concrete deck, concrete abutments, and H-pile foundations.

This acquisition  is set-aside for small business concerns.  The applicable North American Industry Classification Standard Code is 237310 Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction.  The small business size standard is $45,000,000.00.  This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside.  All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency.
