The City of Riverside is seeking a contractor to replace a 66-inch effluent butterfly valve at its Regional Water Quality Control Plant (RWQCP). - Government buyer: City of Riverside, Public Works Department; Finance Department, Purchasing Division. - OEMs and vendors: No valve manufacturer, OEM, or commercial vendor is identified. The City provides the replacement valve. - Products and materials: One City-furnished 66-inch butterfly valve; contractor-furnished flexible couplings and nut-and-bolt gasket kits; and a temporary carbon-steel blocking plate. No part numbers are specified, and quantities for the couplings and gasket kits are not stated. - Work requested: Mobilization; remove and dispose of the existing valve; install and test the replacement; provide and install the couplings and gasket kits; protect and reuse existing flanges and spool pieces; provide bypass pumping; and install and remove the temporary blocking plate, including rebar scanning in the plate area. City personnel will assist with dewatering lines feeding Junction Box No. 17. - Notable requirements: The replacement must be fully operational. Bypass pumping assumes three isolations, and each shutdown is limited to 10 hours. A two-week stabilization period is required between shutdowns unless the City approves otherwise; this period does not count toward contract time. - Estimated project value: $163,000 for the base bid work.
