San Benito County is seeking a design-build team to renovate and expand its public library in Hollister, California. - Buyer: County of San Benito, Public Works Department; the attachment identifies Salman Kazmi as Capital Program Manager. - Project: Free Library Renovation Project, PWB-2314. Firms that performed substantive bridging-document work for the County are ineligible to join a Design-Build team. - OEMs and vendors: No product OEMs, equipment vendors, or prospective bidders are identified; no branded products, part numbers, or product quantities are specified. - Performance period: Approximately 18–24 months for design and construction, including about 12–16 months of construction; the final schedule and sequencing will be developed with the selected team.

Description

The County of San Benito is seeking qualifications from Design-Build Entities for the renovation and modernization of its approximately 15,000-square-foot Free Library in Hollister, including an approximately 1,640-square-foot addition. The selected entity will advance the County’s bridging documents and provide design, engineering, permitting, construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout services. The work is intended to improve safety, accessibility, functionality, building systems, and library services, with identified improvements including seismic and structural safety, fire and life safety, HVAC, and other critical systems. This is Phase 1 of a two-phase Design-Build procurement; qualified teams will be shortlisted for a subsequent RFP phase.
